So that brings us up to today....

So finally I feel like my life is beginning to calm down (at least for a short bit before we prepare to move). So I decided to take Micah into the valley to vist Daddy & catch the fall colors. Micah enjoyed a little hike around the valley & I had fun capturing the wonderful colors. So enjoy...

So what now....

Many of you have been wondering what we will be doing now. We are going to stay in Yosmite but we will be moving over to Mariposa (where we go to chruch), because Ryan will be working on a job in the valley. Ryan is going to spend the next year supervising a repaving project on the Yosemite Valley Loop Road.

If you look on the map in the western side you will see "Southside Drive" this is the first part of the project. Then (as long as there are no legal stuff standing in the way) we will complete the "Northside Drive" road.

Next project
This is a picture of a portion of "Southside Drive." I couldn't resist the beautiful fall colors! The beauty of this project is that much of it will follow the Merced River (beautiful views!!).

Ryan's finished bridge

In a much overdue post...Ryan officially completed work on the South Fork of the Merced River Bridge (yep, that's the official name). Well he really hasn't completed his work...he's a government employee which means lots of paperwork. But the consturction has completed & they had an official ribbon cutting. So I thought I might share some completed photos that I took today. I hope you enjoy them :-)

LA trip

Well it's been a while since I posted but life has been very full. Last week Micah & I met up with my mom in LA. We enjoyed the seashore & San Diego. Micah had a blast with his Grandma. By the end of the trip he would cry when she left for the bathroom, like he does for me, it was SOOOO cute! He really had trouble when he watched from the car as she walked into the airport to fly home. He won't get to see Grandma again until Thanksgiving :-(

Playing around at the shop

As some of you know, Micah and I have been spending a couple days a week for a past couple weeks helping out a friend at church by working at her Skate Shop in town. You got it right, I am now an expert on skateboarding (even though I can't stand on one of the things :-) Micah & I kill the time between customers playing soccer in between the clothing racks & trying on really big shoes (as you can see below). Micah really likes walking around like a duck in these size 12 shoes.

Weekend Hike

Well, life around here has become pretty predictable. Ryan works really long hours & I try to fill my time with activities at chruch & with friends. Last weekend a couple families in the church decided to take some of the youth up to Sentinel Dome (one of the highest points near Yosemite Valley) to watch the sunset & the full moon rise. It was amazing and impressive! I still can not believe how beautiful of a land the Lord has made! Although Micah and I were a little slow climing the mountian (put 30 lbs on the back of my out-of-shape body & it's a recipe for slow travel), we eventually made it to the top to catch a last minute glimps of the sun sneaking below the clouds....AMAZING!!!

Enjoying a seasonal favorite

So last week I was enjoying a piece of corn (very yummy, if I may say so!). Well Micah was sitting there & reached over & tried to yank it out of my hand. Now, you have to understand that up to this point Micah has shown no interest in corn (off the cob, that is). Well he grabbed hold & started chomping! He loved it :-)
